Join pressed botanical artist Marguerite Alpert of The Flowered Press for a hands-on two-hour workshop exploring the timeless craft of flower pressing and botanical art presented in the beautiful, historic brownstone building of Bloom Bake Shop! Learn pressing techniques using a wooden flower press. Marguerite will share methods for selecting, preparing, and preserving fresh flowers. You will also create your own pressed flower artwork using dried botanicals from Marguerite’s gardens. Learn composition and mounting techniques as you design a beautiful piece to take home. Fee: $110 includes a wooden flower press, fresh flowers, pre-pressed materials, art paper and all supplies. Optional: Bring a favorite fresh flower you would like to press.
